Cabinet gives its nod to Telangana
He further informed that Hyderabad would remain the joint capital of both the states for a decade. The Telangana statehood was officially taken to the Cabinet table today. Going forward, after the nod, the nitty gritty of the legal aspect of Telangana formation would be drafted by the law ministry. The draft would then be analysed by the Cabinet again Meanwhile the GoM would be working on the other aspects of the same. Once, everything is finalised, the resolution would then me sent to the Andhra Pradesh Assembly for adoption.
Ever since the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh has been discussed, both the cabinet and the people are divided on the issue. Reaction is awaited from three cabinet ministers from Seemandhra. While Kavuri Sambasiva Rao and Pallam Raju are opposed to the division of the state, Kishore Chandra Deo had placed the demand of the people to the fore. However, S. Jaipal Reddy is the only cabinet minister from Telangana, who is a strong supporter of separate states.
