Byju's India's Mrinal Mohit Resigns; Arjun Mohan Is The New CEO

Mrinal Mohit, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Head of India Business of Edtech firm Byju, has resigned from his position, the company announced on Wednesday. He has been replaced by Arjun Mohan.

Arjun Mohan, a member of the founding team and former Chief Business Officer, has recently returned to the company. Over the past three months, he collaborated extensively with the founder and Group CEO Byju Raveendran. During his absence from Byju's, Arjun took the lead at UpGrad, as mentioned in a statement by Byju's.

Responding to the development, Byju Raveendran said, "If Byju's has reached the remarkable heights it stands at today, it is due to the extraordinary efforts of our founding team. Mrinal's contributions have left an indelible mark on our organization, and we bid him a bittersweet farewell. I am immensely proud of what we have achieved together."

Raveendran further stated, "Arjun's return is a testament to his belief in our mission and the unparalleled opportunities that lie ahead. His expertise will undoubtedly help our turnaround efforts and strengthen our position in the global edtech landscape."

Talking about hos exit, Mrinal Mohit said, "Being part of the founding team at Byju's has been an incredible journey, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have contributed to the transformation of education. As I embark on a new chapter in my career, I leave Byju's in capable hands and carry with me the pride of what we have achieved as a team."

The newly appointed CEO, Arjun Mohan, expressed that Byju Raveendran's commitment to education and his inventive teaching approaches sparked a lasting enthusiasm for learning in him.

"It was no surprise that I joined him to revolutionize education more than a decade ago. And it is no surprise either that I return to BYJU'S today, when technology is poised to play an even more important role in making education truly personalised. While challenges are aplenty, I am ready to play my role in helping BYJU'S empower our current and future generations to thrive in a rapidly changing world," he added.
