Buzz Around Ajit Pawar High Again As SC Set To Deliver Key Maharashtra Verdict

Ahead of the verdict of the Supreme Court on the Eknath Shinde faction, there is a fresh buzz around Ajit Pawar.

Ajit Pawar was seen with tip leaders of Maharashtra's ruling coalition amidst a buzz that he may jump ship. He shared the frame with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis at a mass wedding in Latur on Wednesday. This comes in the wake of a resignation drama by his uncle, Sharad Pawar. The resignation of Pawar was taken back following a recommendation of an internal committee formed by Pawar to decide on his succession. The committee had urged Pawar to take back his resignation.

There has been speculation galore that Ajit Pawar may split the NCP. During his absence in a key party meeting, there were posters calling him the future chief minister of the state of Maharashtra. This had led to speculation that he may break the party and join hands with the BJP. To be sure Ajit Pawar had briefly joined hands with the BJP and formed a government with Devendra Fadnavis which last 80 hours.

There is plenty of uncertainty in Maharashtra since the past one week. A lot would depend on the decision of the Supreme Court, which will decide on the disqualification of the MLAs from the Eknath Shinde faction. This faction had ditched Uddhav Thackeray to go on to form the government with the BJP in the state.
