Noida Bus Crash Kills Momos Seller, Brother Critically Injured

A tragic incident unfolded in Noida on Tuesday when a bus, carrying employees of a private company, crashed into the boundary wall of a group housing society, resulting in the death of a fast food vendor and critical injuries to another individual. The accident occurred at 6.54 pm near Shri Ram Apartments in Sector 118, under the jurisdiction of the Sector 113 Police station.

Bus Crash in Noida Kills One

The deceased vendor, identified as Deepak, 30, of Nepali origin, was operating his food stall outside the residential complex when the bus rammed into the wall. His younger brother, Sushil, 18, also suffered severe injuries and is currently hospitalized in critical condition. Reports from eyewitnesses suggest that another individual associated with the momo stall sustained injuries during the crash.

The bus had veered off course by approximately five meters into the society after breaking through its boundary wall. It stopped merely 10-15 meters away from one of the low-rise towers within the complex, lying perpendicularly on an inner peripheral road. The aftermath saw locals, including women and children, gathering at the scene where utensils, momo steamers, vegetables, and other items from the stall were found scattered beneath the bus.

Police and eyewitness accounts estimated that about 20-25 passengers were aboard the bus at the time of the accident. The harrowed passengers reportedly left for their homes shortly after the crash, while the conductor and driver fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Noida, Vidya Sagar Mishra, informed that preliminary investigations revealed the bus was registered to a private tour and travels company. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation, with efforts underway to apprehend the driver who allegedly lost control while negotiating a turn on the road.

Bhagat Singh, owner of the fast-food stall where Deepak was employed, recounted witnessing the high-speed crash. Singh claimed to have momentarily detained the bus driver, who he alleged was intoxicated at the time but ultimately failed to hold him due to lack of support. Singh also highlighted that Deepak and Sushil resided in nearby Sorkha village and were among three Nepali nationals involved in this unfortunate event.

In response to the accident, police implemented traffic diversions around 8.45 pm and deployed a crane to remove the wreckage of the bus from the site. This incident has left a somber mark on the local community as investigations continue to unfold.
