A CID team from West Bengal would shortly reach here to interrogate him for his alleged link with the Burdwan blast in October last year, he said. "Sheikh is an active member of the 'sura' (political committee) of the banned Jamat-ul-Mujahideen based in Bangladesh," Birtheray said.

Sheikh was also the in-charge of Murshidabad-based Fatima-tul-Johar Banat Madarssa, which had been sealed after the blast in Burdwan in West Bengal, the police officer said.

A country-made revolver, four country-made bombs and a mobile chip were recovered from his possession, he said.
