Thane, Nov 18: A beggar was crushed to death when a three-storey building in the powerloom town of Bhiwandi collapsed in the early hours here today.
The 'Samata' building, situated in Nizampura locality, which had been declared dangerous and vacated earlier, collapsed at around 1.30 AM, police said.

Mohammad Momin (53), who was sleeping on a road adjacent to the building, was buried in the debris as the structure collapsed, Thane city police control room said. Police and local civic body personnel rushed to the site after the incident.
