Budget 2018: No relief for middle class, Twitterati vents out frustration

Soon, twitterati expressed their anger over anti-middle class budget. They conveyed that middle-class is being made scapegoat for pro-poor/populist budget.

The twitterati vented out their frustration as Finance Minister Arun Jailtley did not announce tax cut in personal income for salaried class. However, the only relief was standard deduction of Rs 40,000 for salaried employees in lieu of transport and medical expense.

Arun Jaitley said, "Government has made many positive changes in the personal income tax rates applicable to individuals in the last three years, therefore, I do not wish to make any changes to this."
