Three BSF Personnel Die and 32 Injured in Bus Accident During Election Duty in Jammu and Kashmir

In a tragic incident in Budgam district, Jammu and Kashmir, a bus carrying BSF personnel for election duty fell into a gorge, resulting in the deaths of at least three troopers. Officials reported that 32 others were injured in the accident. The bus was transporting the personnel for the second phase of polling in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections scheduled for September 25.

BSF Bus Accident Claims Three Lives

The accident left around 35 jawans injured, who were immediately taken to a hospital. Unfortunately, three of them succumbed to their injuries. The remaining injured personnel are receiving medical treatment, and their condition is reported to be stable.

Condolences and Support from Authorities

Jammu and Kashmir police chief R R Swain expressed deep sorrow over the incident. He extended heartfelt condolences to the families and colleagues of the deceased soldiers. In his statement, he said, "We mourn the loss of these dedicated soldiers who tirelessly served the nation. We pray for the speedy recovery of the injured and assured them of all necessary support and assistance by the Jammu and Kashmir Police."

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, V K Birdi, along with the IG of BSF's Kashmir Frontier, visited the injured soldiers at City Hospital. They were accompanied by senior officials including the Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir, SSP Srinagar, SSP Budgam, DC Budgam, and others.

During their visit to the hospital, IGP Kashmir expressed concern for the well-being of the injured soldiers. He interacted with medical staff to ensure they were receiving optimal care. The authorities are committed to providing all necessary support to aid in their recovery.

The incident has cast a shadow over preparations for the upcoming elections. However, efforts are being made to ensure that those affected receive adequate support during this challenging time.
