Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi: British and Vested Interests Divided India for Political Ambitions

On Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi emphasised that British and vested interests divided India for political ambitions, honouring the sacrifices of those affected during the 1947 partition.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi remarked on Thursday that the British and certain vested interests divided India to fulfil their political goals. He made this statement on Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, observed annually on August 14. Majhi highlighted the bravery and determination of ancestors who endured the atrocities of 1947.

Participating in a Tiranga Yatra in Cuttack, Majhi urged everyone to take pride in joining the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abiyan’. "Partition Horrors Remembrance Day is not merely a day for us; it is an occasion to recall that dark chapter of our history when the British and certain vested interests, for their political ambitions, fragmented our Mother India," Majhi said in a post on X.

Partition's Impact and National Unity

Majhi reflected on the partition of 1947, noting that millions were displaced, families were torn apart, and thousands were killed based on religion. "Today’s India has been built on their courage, sacrifice, and resolute determination. On the occasion of Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, we remember their struggle and sacrifice and pay our heartfelt tributes to them," he stated.

The chief minister emphasised that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the BJP government is addressing historical injustices. "Article 370 has been removed from Kashmir, and the dream of ‘One Nation-One Law-One Flag’ has been fulfilled. Whether it is the border or the world, today India is not compromising its integrity and sovereignty; it is giving a strong response to the aggressors," he said.

Honouring the National Flag

The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, centred around the national tricolour flag, spans three days across India starting August 12. Majhi participated in a rally at Cuttack Sadar's 42 Mouza locality. The campaign aims to honour the national flag and raise awareness among citizens.

Majhi joined thousands in the Tiranga Yatra organised by the BJP. He expressed pride in participating in this national initiative. The campaign seeks to instil respect for the national flag while fostering widespread public awareness.

Majhi's statements underscore India's journey from partition to present-day unity. His participation in national campaigns highlights efforts to honour past sacrifices while promoting national pride and unity.
