Bring Them To Us, Will Accept Them Dead Or Alive: Family That Lost 3 Generations In Shimla Landslide

A family, which reportedly lost three generations in the landslide in the Summer Hill area of rain-hit Shimla, has appealed to the authorities to bring back the bodies of the two missing people.

While the bodies of five members have been recovered, the authorities are yet to discover the bodies of two people from the family.

A relative, Sunita Sharma says, "I have just one request, find them and bring them to us. We will accept them dead or alive. We have been waiting for three days..."

Sunedhi, the sister of one of the missing persons, said, "We don't know what God did to us." Vinod, the brother of one of the missing persons says, "Administration should make such areas safe, have some kind of system in place to ensure that the water recedes immediately."

Their neighbour, Mehar Singh H Verma says, "We performed the last rites of four of the members yesterday. They lost their three generations."

At least 51 people were killed as rains wreaked havoc in Himachal Pradesh, triggering landslides that blocked key roads, damaged homes and buried devotees in the rubble of a temple on Tuesday. The shrine was crowded with devotees, offering prayers on an important day of the holy month of Sawan.

Meanwhile, a massive landslide was reported in Shimla's Summer Hill area on Wednesday, ANI reported citing an official. A search and rescue operation was launched after the word of the incident got out and sniffer dogs and rescuers were at the spot. There were no immediate reports of any casualties or injuries in the incident.
