Brij Bhushan Case: Wrestlers Claim Delhi Police Withdrew Security Day Before Court Testimony
Three women wrestlers who accused former BJP leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of sexual misconduct have approached the Rouse Avenue Court, alleging that the Delhi Police withdrew their security.
The wrestlers stated that this withdrawal occurred just a day before one of them was scheduled to appear in court for deposition.

The case was heard by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Priyanka Rajpoot at the Rouse Avenue Court. The court issued an interim order directing the police to provide security to the complainant wrestler until further notice.
"In the meantime, as an interim measure to ensure the safety of complainant/victim no. 4 (as per the list of witnesses), the DCP concerned is directed to make immediate and appropriate arrangements for her security until her deposition is complete and until further orders from this Court," the court ordered.
The case is scheduled for a hearing tomorrow.
On May 10, 2024, the court framed charges against Singh for sexual harassment and outraging the modesty of five women wrestlers. These charges stemmed from complaints filed by a total of six wrestlers, leading to the police registering a First Information Report (FIR) against the Member of Parliament.
On June 15, 2023, the police filed a chargesheet against Singh, citing offenses under Sections 354 (outraging modesty), 354A (sexually colored remarks), 354D (stalking), and 506(1) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Although Singh was discharged from allegations made by one of the wrestlers, charges were framed concerning the allegations made by the other five.
The wrestlers had initially approached the Supreme Court to ensure the registration of an FIR against Singh. Following this, the Delhi Police informed the Supreme Court that an FIR had been registered and the investigation was ongoing.
