Bride Elopes with Lover Days After Wedding, Husband Thanks Her For Putting Him In A Blue Drum
In an unexpected story out of Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, a newly married woman named Khushboo made headlines after choosing to leave her husband and live with her lover - just days into her marriage. What stood out even more was her husband Sunil's unusually composed and dignified response.
The couple had tied the knot on May 17, and Khushboo moved into her marital home the following day. After spending nine days with her in-laws, she returned to her parents' house as part of a post-wedding custom. But instead of going back to her husband, Khushboo vanished - and eventually resurfaced, not alone, but with her lover.

Husband Files Report, Bride Confesses
When Khushboo failed to return, Sunil approached the local police to file a missing person report. But the mystery was soon solved when Khushboo herself arrived at the station and revealed that she had willingly run away to be with her lover.
What could have turned into a bitter legal dispute took a surprising turn. Khushboo clearly expressed her wish to live with her lover, and Sunil, rather than reacting with anger or legal threats, accepted her choice without resistance. "I was planning to take her to Nainital for our honeymoon," he said. "But if she's found happiness elsewhere, I'm happy too. At least I didn't end up like Raja Raghuvanshi," he quipped, referring to a viral case of marital betrayal.
No Legal Battle, Only Mutual Understanding
Both families reached a peaceful resolution at the police station. All wedding gifts and jewellery that Khushboo had received were returned by her family. The Station House Officer, Harendra Singh, confirmed that neither side pursued any legal proceedings. "She was firm in her decision not to return to her husband and insisted on leaving with her lover," he noted.
The entire agreement was documented officially to avoid any future conflict. With everything settled, Khushboo left the station with her partner, while Sunil and his family quietly went back home.
A Happy Ending - For All Three
What could have been a drawn-out domestic dispute ended on a surprisingly cordial note. Sunil summed it up with a touch of wit and wisdom: "All three of us are happy now - my wife and her lover have found each other, and I've avoided a life of heartache."
