Narendra Modi & Gujarat riots - 5 myths busted
Ahmedabad, Dec 27: In modern day India, Narendra Modi's "alleged role" in 2002 represents the tallest towers of treachery, constructed on the pillars of lies, insinuations and distortions. After yesterday's Ahmedabad Metropolitan court order, it becomes imperative to clear the cobwebs of doubt and let the truth shine.
Let's see the oft-repeated myths regarding 2002 and what does the SIT report & other proofs say on it: (See scanned excerpts of SIT report below)

Modi & Gujarat riots - 5 myths busted
One of the most common example the members of the anti Gujarat cottage industry gives to prove Narendra Modi's "alleged" role in the riots is that he went slow in requesting for help and that the army was called after a long delay of 3 days.

It is also important to note here that sensing the gravity of the situation, Gujarat Government requested the 3 neighbouring states namely Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh & Rajasthan which were all ruled by Congress Governments at that time. But barring Maharashtra who sent two companies of SRP, none of them came forward to help. It is an irony that even Digvijaya Singh, who always has a lesson or two in secularism for the BJP, refused to help in such testing times.

Modi & Gujarat riots - 5 myths busted
Again, this is a much propagated canard, which is miles away from the truth. The SIT report states that Narendra Modi, along with the them Home Minister LK Advani went to the riot affected areas as early as 3rd March 2002.

Recently Mulayam Singh Yadav showed utter disdain for the riot victims languishing in the Muzaffarnagar relief camps and said that there were no real victims in the camps, they were all members of some political parties. While the secular club continues to vilify Narendra Modi without any proof, they are silent on this outrageous statement of Mulayam. Let us examine what Narendra Modi did for the relief camps and the victims.

It is also a lesser known fact that a committee to supervise the relief operations was formed by Narendra Modi under the chairmanship of the Governor of the state. It also included the Congress State President, Ex CM Shri Amarsingh Chaudhary, leader of opposition Naresh Patel, Ex CM Keshubhai Patel, Smt Ilaben Bhatt of SEWA, Padmashri Ishvarbhai Patel a well known Gandhian from Sabarmati Ashram in addition to the CM Narendra Modi.

Sanjiv Bhatt claims to be present in a meeting at 10:30 am on 28th March 2001 at CM Residence, but his call records show he was in Ahmedabad. How does he still go about being a flag bearer of conscience?

Even more intriguing is the fact that this neutral, honest, upright crusader for justice is hand in glove with the opposition leaders and is found to be accepting packages and legal assistance from them!
Army called 3 days late
One of the most common example the members of the anti Gujarat cottage industry gives to prove Narendra Modi's "alleged" role in the riots is that he went slow in requesting for help and that the army was called after a long delay of 3 days.
The fact is, as the SIT Report observes, the decision to call the army was taken on 28th February itself and conveyed immediately. But as the army was on the borders, it could be deployed in Gujarat only the next day i.e. 1st March. (See Photo no:1 in below photo feature)

(See Photo no:2 in below photo feature)
Narendra Modi never visited riot affected areas
Again, this is a much propagated canard, which is miles away from the truth. The SIT report states that Narendra Modi, along with the them Home Minister LK Advani went to the riot affected areas as early as 3rd March 2002. (See Photo no:3)
On the next day, Narendra Modi & LK Advani visited the riot affected areas in Saurashtra and Bhavnagar. The prompt action of Gujarat Government also ensured that lives of around 500 students were saved at a Madrassa. Narendra Modi made a second visit to the riot affected areas in Ahmedabad on the 5th March, as noted by the SIT. Thus Narendra Modi visited and surveyed the riot affected areas for 3 consecutive days, which is often conveniently ignored by the chatterati discussing 2002.
Not enough has been done for relief camps
Recently Mulayam Singh Yadav showed utter disdain for the riot victims languishing in the Muzaffarnagar relief camps and said that there were no real victims in the camps, they were all members of some political parties. While the secular club continues to vilify Narendra Modi without any proof, they are silent on this outrageous statement of Mulayam.
Let us examine what Narendra Modi did for the relief camps and the victims.(See Photo no:4 in below photo feature)
All possible help has been extended by the Government to ensure that people living in relief camps do not face any difficulties.
It is also a lesser known fact that a committee to supervise the relief operations was formed by Narendra Modi under the chairmanship of the Governor of the state. It also included the Congress State President, Ex CM Shri Amarsingh Chaudhary, leader of opposition Naresh Patel, Ex CM Keshubhai Patel, Smt Ilaben Bhatt of SEWA, Padmashri Ishvarbhai Patel a well known Gandhian from Sabarmati Ashram in addition to the CM Narendra Modi (See Photo no:5 in below photo feature).
Narendra Modi asked to let Hindus vent out their anger in meeting
This is again a big lie which has been repeated again and again. But the facts probed by the SIT give a totally different picture. Yes, a meeting took place on the 27th Feb 2002 to review the situation in Gujarat. But all the participants of that meeting consisting of top bureaucrats affirmatively stated that no such thing was said by the CM in the meeting. All the top officials present in the meeting said that while CM did not say anything about letting Hindus vent their anger, everyone agreed that Narendra Modi had directed them to take pertinent steps to restore peace and stop the violence. Also as stated by conspiracy theorists, no political person or leader was present at the meeting.
Sanjiv Bhatt is an honest fighter for justice
Even if we don't fall into the argument as to why Sanjiv Bhatt got a sudden wake up call from his conscience, all his allegations do not hold ground when subjected to scrutiny. While most of the allegations on Narendra Modi are based on Sanjiv Bhatt's statement, his statement contradicts a lot of established facts.
Sanjiv Bhatt claims to be present in a meeting at 10:30 am on 28th March 2001 at CM Residence, but his call records show he was in Ahmedabad. How does he still go about being a flag bearer of conscience? (See Photo no:6 in below photo feature)
Sanjiv Bhatt again gets caught lying when he says that he accompanied DGP K Chakrararthy to the meeting on 27th Feb 2002 in the latter's staff car. But DGP K Chakravarthy himself denies that Sanjiv Bhatt accompanied him to the meeting!
Even more intriguing is the fact that this neutral, honest, upright crusader for justice is hand in glove with the opposition leaders and is found to be accepting packages and legal assistance from them!
