Bradley vehicles on their way to Ukraine

The Twitter handle of the US Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) shared the video which shows Bradley IFBs being transported to Ukraine.

New Delhi, Feb 7: Following the decision that the USA made earlier the last month to supply Bradley IFVs to Ukraine, videos of them travelling to Ukraine have surfaced. Although when the news came out that the USA would supply these armoured vehicles to Ukraine, the date of delivery was not known. However, now it appears that it has been done in a very short time of one month.

The news break came from the Twitter handle of the US Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) that shared the video which shows Bradley IFBs being transported to Ukraine. The dispatch has been done from the port of Charleston in North Carolina. It has come to the fore that the US is supplying more than 60 Bradleys to Ukraine. These are to be used for the defensive purposes by the Ukrainian army.

About Bradley IFVs

These are American infantry fighting vehicles which are known for their prowess on the battlefield. With decades of proven track record, Bradley IFV has been used by the US Army and other military forces around the world in various wars. They were introduced to the US Army in the early 1980s and since then have become the main armoured vehicles in almost all wars.

Named after General Omar Bradley, each of the Bradley IFV comes stacked with a 25mm cannon, a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun. At the same time, it carries a TOW anti-tank missile system that is known for its devastating capabilities. Providing armoured protection to infantry, Bradley also offers fire support during combat operations.

After proving its role in several conflicts over the last 40 years, Bradley IFVs have been known for their roles in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Moreover, since these have been upgraded to meet the latest requirements with new technology, their role is still relevant and crucial for any military mission for the US Army.

Part of larger shipment to Ukraine

Earlier last month, Pentagon Press Secretary Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder had clarified that Bradleys were part of a larger shipment of equipment that the USA had promised to Ukraine in more than 2 billion dollars aid. The USA has been arming Ukraine to teeth with air defence equipment, armoured vehicles, ammunition, etc. over the months. However, with all their efforts Ukraine has not been able to stand against the Russian armed forces.
