Boy commits suicide over ragging in college
Anantapur (AP), July 31: A class 11 student at a village near here allegedly committed suicide over suspected ragging by fellow students, police said on Friday.
The body of Madhuvantha Reddy (16), a resident of Donnikotavari Palli in ODC mandal of the district, was found hanging from a tree in the garden of his house here this morning, an officer at ODC police station said.

A student of a private college in Nellore, the boy was reportedly fed up with the alleged ragging inflicted by his seniors, following which his father visited him and brought him back home yesterday, the officer said.
The victim's father alleged that the college authorities had warned him of losing one academic year and even humiliated him over the issue, which prompted him to take the extreme step, police said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem and a case has been registered in this regard, the officer said, adding, further investigation is on.
