Botanical Garden Metro Station Awarded Best on DMRC's 30th Foundation Day

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) marked its 30th foundation day with a grand celebration at Bharat Mandapam, recognizing the exceptional contributions of its employees over the past year. At this prestigious event, the Botanical Garden metro station was honored with the title of 'best metro station', and the Shastri Park depot received accolades as the 'best metro depot', highlighting their outstanding service and operational excellence.

Top Award for Botanical Garden Station

In a significant acknowledgment of individual achievements, over 70 DMRC employees were awarded the annual Managing Directors awards. Among the notable awardees were Priti Kumari, who was named ‘metro woman of the year’ for her role as a senior station manager, and Mohammad Abdussueb Ahamad, the head traffic controller, who received the ‘metro man of the year’ award. Their dedication and hard work have significantly contributed to DMRC's success and operational efficiency.

A special accolade was also presented to Gopesh Kumar Verma, another senior station manager, for his contributions towards the use and promotion of Raj Bhasha, emphasizing the importance of linguistic inclusivity within the organization. Additionally, Vijendra Singh, assistant manager security, was recognized for his crucial role in assisting a police investigation related to a sensitive case at Mandi House Metro Station.

The DMRC has come a long way since its inception, with its first corridor between Shahdara and Tis Hazari inaugurated on December 25, 2002. Today, the Delhi Metro network spans approximately 392.44 kms and includes 288 stations. This extensive network not only facilitates seamless travel across the city but also stands as a testament to DMRC's commitment to enhancing urban mobility in India's capital.

The foundation day celebration not only served as an occasion to honor individual and collective achievements but also reflected on DMRC's journey over three decades. From its humble beginnings to becoming an integral part of Delhi's urban landscape, DMRC has continuously strived to improve its services and infrastructure, ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation solutions for millions of commuters daily.
