Border trade between India and China concludes today
"The last batch of 14 traders has reached the Indian territory of Gunji this morning after crossing 16,500-feet high Lipulekh pass through which the trade gets going for five months beginning from the month of June every year since it was resumed in the year 1992," SDM, Dharchula, Pramod Kumar said.
He said a total of 174 Indian traders including 104 trade assistants have gone to Taklakot in western Tibet this year for the trade. Rest of the traders have reached the Indian territory some days back, he said.
"We have asked the traders to take care of the track route between Lipulekh pass and Gunji as despite removing snow from these tracks, the route remained slippery," the SDM said.
The traders said they have incurred losses this time as stocks of sugarcandy and jaggery could not be sold due to less number of clients they received this year.
