Book on Lata Mangeshkar: A Musical Journey out by January 2016
New Delhi, Sept 28: The story of Lata Mangeshkar, Bollywood's biggest musical star is now set to come out in the form of a book in January 2016, publishers announced today on the singer's 85th birthday.
"The book has been written by one of Hindi literature's most respected poets and authors, Yatindra Mishra, with the full co-operation of Lata ji.

It will be translated by Sahitya Akademi Award winning author Ira Pande," Penguin Random House said in a statement today.
The book "Lata Mangeshkar: A Musical Journey" is based on an exclusive and long-running series of interviews which Mishra has had with Mangeshkar over several years. It contains little known facts intertwined with the story of her life in music, struggles, successes and her reign as the Queen of Hindi music from the 1940s to the present day.
Meru Gokhale, Editor-in-Chief of Literary Publishing says: "This is one of the most exciting and ambitious projects we have ever taken on.
Everyone at Penguin Random House couldn't be prouder to be able to publish a book about a figure as loved and celebrated as Lata Mangeshkar.
We hope her fans and admirers in India and all over the world will be as thrilled by this book as we are." Yatindra Mishra, the author, says "It is a dream come true! Lata ji has been an iconic figure for me as she has been for millions in South Asia.
For me, it is a great achievement to have shared her memories."
