Bomb scare at Pathankot Chowk

Jalandhar, Jan 27: A bomb-like object was recovered from near a shop at the Pathankot Chowk here on Tuesday which was diffused safely by the Bomb Defusal Squad, police said.

A senior police official said the object prima-facie looks like a 'bomb'. "The Bomb Defusal Squad has diffused it. The powder, wire, watch etc., recovered from it were sent to forensic laboratory. Only after the reports come we can say if it is a bomb or something else," he said.

When asked if the object was actually a 'bomb', deputy police commissioner Sandeep Sharma said "he has no information in this regard as no report has come from the the Bomb Defusal Squad till now".

The policemen who were present on the site said that the 'explosive' was diffused at a safe place.
