Bollywood actress Shruti Seth lashes out at Narendra Modi govt, yet again

Mumbai, Aug 6: Shruti Seth, who recently made headlines, once again criticised Narendra Modi government at the Centre.

This time, the Bollywood actress slammed the central government over a report which said it Modi govt spent Rs 24 crore on various ads, including Mann Ki Baat, Yoga Day promotion and many others.

Mulk Raj Anand, an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) activist had posed a question under Right to Information (RTI) Act.

Following the RTI, it has been revealed that Modi govt spent over Rs 8.5 crore from Jan 2015 to July 29 on newspaper advertisements to promote the Prime Minister's radio address, Mann Ki Baat.

Another RTI query revealed that BJP-led NDA govt has spent Rs 15.87 crore on SMS messages to promote Yoga Day which was held on June 21, 2015.

Citing media reports, Shruti Seth criticised the government on micro-blogging site Twitter. She tweeted, "The priorities of government spending. Nice! I really want to hear how this will be justified/defended."

This was not the first time when Shruti criticised Modi govt in open forum. Earlier she had criticised Modi's #SelfieWithDaughter campaign on Twitter.

She wrote, "A selfie is not a device to bring about change Mr. PM. Try reform." Her tweet brought her criticism from Modi followers who trolled her on the micro-blogging site.
