VIDEO: Emotional lesbian couple ad takes social media by storm, goes viral

New Delhi, June 11: An advertisement titled 'The Visit' showing a lesbian couple preparing to meet their parents has gone viral and is making waves on the social media.

The advertisement which is made for an ethnic wear collection for a fashion portal, shows two girls who are a live-in relationship dressing up to meet their parents. They are also seen expressing their love for each other.

At a time when the visibility of same-sex couples has increased and homosexuals have been shunned in India, this ad may bring in some change in the way people think about them as they have never been a part of mainstream cultural dialogues.

The Anouk ad, is part of the brand's 'Bold is Beautiful' series and showcases the discussion between a lesbian couple before they meet their parents.

The small ad conceptualised by the ad agency Ogilvy & Mather, Bangalore, has got over 5 lakh hits on YouTube in over 15 days.
