Bodies of two women labourers found in hut

Salem, Feb 5: Two elderly women labourers were found dead under mysterious circumstances in a hut in Kalpaganur village here today.

The victims, identified as Kamatchi (50) wife of Vadivel and her friend Chellamal (65), a widow, were daily wage labourers, police said.

They said the duo, who used to frequent a nearby liquor shop, were found dead in Kamatchi's hut. Police said the next of kin of the deceased attempted to cremate the bodies wihtout their knowledge.

The incident created a flutter at the village.
