BluSmart Not Working? Here's How Users Can Claim Blu Wallet Refund Amid Gensol Crisis
BluSmart, the promising ride-hailing platform once seen as a strong competitor to Uber and Ola, is now not working in Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. The app has suddenly stopped accepting ride bookings, leaving regular BluSmart users unsure about the fate of the funds in their Blu Wallet accounts.
While the BluSmart app can still be downloaded from both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, users are currently unable to book cabs for any time slots. The company has yet to issue an official statement regarding the service suspension, but it seems to have been triggered by a SEBI investigation into Gensol Engineering - a sister company of BluSmart - which reportedly uncovered misuse of funds.

In response to the situation, Delhi International Airport has also issued an advisory, informing passengers that BluSmart's operations at the airport have been temporarily suspended.
BluSmart's unique fare payment system set it apart from other ride-hailing apps in India. Unlike competitors like Uber and Ola, BluSmart required users to pay for their rides in advance. Customers could add the exact fare to their Blu Wallet, or if they were frequent travelers, they could top up the wallet with more funds.
With BluSmart services suspended unexpectedly, many users are now struggling to retrieve their money from the Blu Wallet, which remains inaccessible. The BluSmart app doesn't provide a direct refund option, and getting in touch with customer support has proven to be difficult. If you're one of the affected users, here's how you can claim a refund for your Blu Wallet balance.
How to Request a Refund from Blu Wallet:
- Open the BluSmart app on your smartphone.
- Tap the menu icon in the top-left corner and go to the Help section.
- Select Blu Wallet from the list of help topics.
- In this section, you'll find FAQs regarding Blu Wallet balances and refunds. However, there isn't a direct option to request a refund or contact the support team. To get in touch with support, tap the thumbs-down icon on the 'Does this resolve your issue?' tab.
- This will allow you to connect with BluSmart support and submit your refund request.
- Once your request is processed, the refunded amount should be credited to your original payment method within 5 to 7 business days.
