Bling missing, Ram Rahim stood silent as court held him guilty of rape

Gurmeet Ram Rahim was not all style and bling when he appeared before the special CBI court which convicted him of rape charges on Friday. Dressed in a white kurta-pyjama, the Dera chief stood silent as the judge said, "the court has come to the conclusion that the prosecution has been able to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt. Thus, the accused is held guilty under Sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of Indian Penal Code." The quantum of punishment will be pronounced on Monday."

As he stepped into the court at 2.20 pm, the judge appreciate him for being present. The judge also told him not to create lawlessness. The Dera chief stood silent and did not utter a word. After the verdict was pronounced, his five lawyers went up to him and explained the order to him. He still did not utter a single word.
Apart from his lawyers, Ram Rahim was accompanied by a woman who told the court that she shared with him the relationship of a daughter. The lady said that she accompanied him as the Dera chief was suffering from back pain. Ram Rahim will be back in court on Monday when the quantum of sentence will be pronounced. Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code prescribes a maximum punishment of ten years if held guilty on rape charges.
