Bhopal-Delhi Vande Bharat Express Coach Catches Fire In Madhya Pradesh, Passengers Safe

In the latest incident involving a Vande Bharat train, a coach on the Bhopal-Delhi express caught fire this morning. All passengers are safe and no injury has been reported.

The incident took place around 8 am at Kurwai Kethora station in Madhya Pradesh.

"The fire brigade reached the site and extinguished the fire. All passengers are safe. No injuries were reported.The fire is limited to Battery Box Only. After examination train will be dispatched soon," said the Indian Railways.

There were 20-22 passengers in the coach and they were shifted to other coaches immediately. No injury to anyone was reported in the incident, the official told PTI.

    Some railway staffers noticed the fire at around 6.45 am in the battery box of C-12 coach following which the Rani Kamalapati-Hazrat Nizamuddin Vande Bharat train was immediately stopped between Kurwai and Kaithora stations in Vidisha district, he said. The blaze was immediately brought under control, the official said.

    Railway staff was conducting the repair work, he said. Launched in Feb 2019, Vande Bharat Express is currently operational on nearly 20 routes.

    Vande Bharat Express can run up to a maximum speed of 160 kmph and has travel classes like Shatabdi Train but with better facilities. It aims to provide a totally new travel experience to passengers.
