Blast on railway track in Bihar, no damage reported

An inquiry has been ordered into the matter.

A bomb blast took place on a railway track near the Buxar station in Bihar, but no injuries or damage has been reported. The blast occurred near the Buxar station on the Mughalsarai-Patna section at 12.10 pm on Monday.

Eyewitnesses reported that a passenger threw the bomb on the track which caused a loud explosion, The railway track was however not damaged in the blast. An inquiry has been ordered into the matter. Sources say that they would be inquiring into various factors. Buxar is known for its Naxalite activities.

The incident comes in the wake of the National Investigation Agency probing into possible cases of sabotage in train accidents in the country. The Bihar police had busted a module which had claimed that it was assigned by the Inter-Services Intelligence to carry out train accidents in the country.
