Blast at Firecracker Manufacturing Unit in Bareilly Claims Three Lives and Injures Several Others
A blast at a firecracker manufacturing unit in a village resulted in three deaths and three injuries, according to police reports. The explosion occurred in the Sirauli police station area, causing damage to nearby buildings. Authorities are currently verifying the licence of Nasir, the operator of the unit. A senior officer mentioned that Nasir's licence was for a different location, while the incident happened at his in-laws' residence.

Inspector General Bareilly Range Rakesh Singh confirmed the fatalities and injuries from the explosion in Bareilly district's Sirauli area. He stated that the blast also damaged three to four adjacent buildings. Nasir, who operated the firecracker unit, is under investigation regarding his licence details. Singh added that he is heading to the site to oversee relief efforts.
Rescue Operations and Investigation
Local police, along with health and fire department personnel, quickly arrived at the scene to conduct rescue operations. Senior officials, including IG Singh, are present to monitor the situation. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams are still working on-site to ensure no one remains trapped under debris.
Bareilly Senior Superintendent of Police Anurag Arya reported that the incident took place around 4 pm. Preliminary investigations revealed that Nasir held a licence for explosives at another location. The house where the explosion occurred belonged to his in-laws. Arya dismissed the presence of other explosive materials, stating that locally-made crackers were found at the site.
Government Response and Safety Measures
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed condolences for the lives lost and instructed officials to provide proper medical care for those injured. The government is taking steps to ensure safety and prevent such incidents in future. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
The police have initiated a probe into the incident and will take appropriate action against those responsible. The focus remains on ensuring safety and compliance with regulations in firecracker manufacturing units across the region.
The tragic event highlights the need for stringent safety measures in firecracker production facilities. Ensuring proper licensing and adherence to safety protocols is crucial to prevent similar occurrences.
