Black Money
New Delhi, Oct 27: After the three names were released today, it is being rumoured that 4 more high-profile Congress candidates are being investigated. One among them was a former junior minister in the Manmohan Singh government. Last week, finance minister Arun Jaitley had said that some very big names from the Congress are on the investigation list and if they are held guilty, the party will be "mired in embarassment". To this, former finance minister P Chidambaram said that "whatever name is there will embarrass the individual, the party won't be. These are individual transgressions."

Inside sources say that I-T notices will be sent to all four candidates under question. Apart from a former Minister of State in the Congress-led coalition government, the group also includes a former parliamentarian from Uttar Pradesh, and two members of a major political family from Maharashtra.

The finance minister has assured that BJP will stick to its election promise of bringing back black money to the country and that the names will be shared with the media soon after they are being shared with the Supreme Court.

The government is dealing with two lists-the first is of Indian account-holders in Lichtenstein; the other is of citizens who banked with HSBC in Switzerland. The former will be discussed today.
