BKU slams demonetisation move, says farmers not getting cash
BKU president Naresh Tikait said about 4,000 garment manufacturing units have been badly affected, and 6,000 labourers became jobless in Muzaffarnagar district alone
Muzaffarnagar, Dec 17: The Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) has slammed the government for its demonetisation move, saying farmers are not getting cash despite having money in their bank accounts.
"After standing in queue for the whole day, the banks are allowing withdrawal of only Rs 2,000," BKU president Naresh Tikait said.

He claimed about 4,000 garment manufacturing units have been badly affected, and 6,000 labourers became jobless in Muzaffarnagar district alone.
Meanwhile, agitated customers locked down an SBI branch in Kakroli village yesterday, alleging that the bank employees misbehaved with women.
Later, police rushed to pacify angry customers. In another incident in the district, employees of Kandhla Nagar Palika staged dharna outside a State Bank of India branch here for not being able to withdraw their salary.
