BJP's Manifesto For 2024 Lok Sabha Polls To Be Out On Sunday
With the Lok Sabha polls beginning on April 19, the ruling BJP is all set to release its manifesto on Sunday, ANI reported citing sources.
The manifesto which is titled 'Sankalp Patra', will be released in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
Chaired by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, the manifesto committee has convened two meetings. The saffron party has garnered over 1.5 million suggestions for its manifesto, including 400,000 via the NaMo app and over 1.1 million through videos.

What to expect from the manifesto?
The BJP's manifesto will prioritize development, prosperity, empowerment of women and youth, support for the poor and farmers, and ensure achievable promises. Themed 'Modi's Guarantee: Developed India 2047,' it will emphasize cultural nationalism, the sources informed the news agency.
The Bharatiya Janata Party established the Election Manifesto Committee, consisting of 27 members, with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh as chairman. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman serves as coordinator, and Union Minister Piyush Goyal as co-coordinator, alongside 24 additional members.
The upcoming general elections in India are scheduled to occur from April 19, 2024, to June 1, 2024, to elect the 543 representatives for the 18th Lok Sabha. These elections will be held in seven phases, with the results announced on June 4, 2024.
Approximately 970 million individuals, out of a total population of 1.44 billion, are eligible to participate in the elections. The legislative assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha, and Sikkim will coincide with the general elections. Additionally, there will be by-elections for 35 seats across 16 states.
On the other hand, the Congress has already released its manifesto titled 'Nyay Patra.' The grand old party has highlighted 25 guarantees to the public, with a key promise to provide annual financial assistance of Rs 100,000 to the poorest women in families.
The Congress has pledged to safeguard personal choices regarding food, dress, love, marriage, travel, and residence across India. The party vows to revoke any laws or regulations that unreasonably restrict personal freedoms.
