BJP will win in four states due to anti-Congress wave: Arun Jaitley

"BJP would return to power in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh as people had accepted incumbent chief ministers Raman Singh and Shivraj Singh Chouhan as their most trusted and creditable leaders, while in Rajasthan and Delhi, BJP would have comfortable majority to form the new governments after December 8 results," BJP leader Arun Jaitley told a press conference in Jaipur.
Four states' referendum will help in deciding BJP's next year's Lok Sabha poll agenda and BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's support will grow tremendously, he said.
Claiming that the anti-Congress wave was a national trend, Jaitley, Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha, said the Centre's mismanagement of economy leading to inflation and price rise of essential commodities, corruption cases like 2G, CWG, coal, and lapses in internal security were seriously affecting the common man, who found the Congress leadership "indecisive, incompetent and non-inspirational".
He said in Rajasthan, BJP's CM candidate Vasundhara Raje's dynamic and inspirational leadership as opposed to Gehlot government's "all-round failure" and moral downfall of its ministers in alleged rape cases would help his party come to power in the state.
When asked about Tehelka Editor Tarun Tejpal seeking to shift his case from Goa alleging that the BJP government there with taking "undue interest" in his case, Jaitley said primarily, he would not like to comment as the matter was in court, but the venue of offence committed by the man was not a concern of any government.
On a question whether BJP had dropped the Ayodhya Ram Mandir issue, he said the case was to be decided by the court and the issue was still on BJP's agenda.
On distribution of anonymous posters, CDs and booklets against Raje, Jaitley said it was opposition Congress' "desperate and dirty tactics" to tarnish the image of BJP's dynamic and inspirational leader.
