BJP Takes Dig At Rahul Gandhi Over Marginalization Of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra And Robert Vadra

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday, stating that a day after Kishori Lal Sharma filed Lok Sabha polls' nomination from Amethi, it was evident that Rahul Gandhi's "camp" has marginalized his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and brother-in-law Robert Vadra, as reported by Hindustan Times.

BJP leader Amit Malviya pointed out that the Amethi seat was overlooked for Robert Vadra by the "Rahul Gandhi camp," even after the latter claimed popularity in the UP city.

Amit Malviya mentioned the possibility of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra rebelling against the Congress leadership soon.

"It is obvious that both Priyanka Vadra and her husband are being systematically marginalized in the Congress, despite Robert Vadra claiming immense popularity in Amethi. How soon before the sister rebels?" was written by him on X on Saturday morning.

Here's What Robert Vadra Said

Robert Vadra had expressed his interest in active politics and hinted at contesting in the Lok Sabha elections, stating that people had encouraged him to enter politics and bring about change if the Congress party believed he could contribute positively. He mentioned that while Amethi was an option, he was also open to contesting from Moradabad and Haryana, as per media reports.

This statement from Robert Vadra triggered speculation that he was considering contesting from Amethi, the Congress party's former stronghold, where Rahul Gandhi had previously been elected three times before losing to BJP's Smriti Irani in 2019. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi has filed his nomination from Rae Bareli, another Congress stronghold previously represented by his mother Sonia Gandhi, as reported by Hindustan Times.

Former Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam alleged a conspiracy against Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, suggesting that Rahul Gandhi should have contested against PM Narendra Modi in Varanasi if he did not wish to contest from Amethi. There were earlier speculations that Priyanka Gandhi would contest from Rae Bareli after Sonia Gandhi vacated the seat.
