BJP Slams Cong After CWC Reiterates Support For Rights Of Palestinians To Self-Govt
The BJP has slammed the Congress after it reiterated its long-standing support for the rights of the Palestinian people to land amid the conflict between Hamas and Israel.
The grand old party on Monday passed a resolution and expressed its dismay and anguish on the war that has broken out in the Middle East.

"The CWC reiterates its long-standing support for the rights of the Palestinian people to land, self-government and to live with dignity and respect," the resolution said.
The Congress Working Committee (CWC) emphasized the necessity of an immediate ceasefire and urged the commencement of negotiations addressing all unresolved issues, notably the critical matters contributing to the ongoing conflict.
These statements were made in the resolution one day after the Congress denounced the attack, underlining that violence in any form never yields solutions and should be stopped.
Responding to the Congress' stand, Union minister Pralhad Joshi, on X, asked how will Congress protect the nation and its citizens when it is "openly standing with violence".
"Congress at it again! Supporting terror organisations and terrorism while innocent civilians lose their lives to bullets," he said.
"With this stand, the leading party of I.N.D.I Alliance has exposed itself to the nation. How will the party protect its nation and citizens when it is openly standing with violence," Mr Joshi added.
Israel witnessed a surprise and unprecedented attack by Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, in its southern parts on Saturday morning. More than 1,600 people have been killed and thousands wounded on both sides, so far.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday spoke to his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu and informed him that the people of India are with Israel during this period.
"I thank Prime Minister @netanyahu for his phone call and providing an update on the ongoing situation. People of India stand firmly with Israel in this difficult hour. India strongly and unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations," PM Modi said on social media platform X.
