BJP Shares 1st Candidate List For Lok Sabha Elections 2024, But No Announcement For Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday released its first list of candidates comprising names of 195 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024. The saffron party aims to win over 400 seats this time and retain the power for the consecutive third term.
Today, from the party headquarters in New Delhi, BJP announced candidates for Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, West Bengal, Kerala and other states.
Surprisingly, no candidate was announced for Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

According to the reports, the BJP is waiting to form an alliance with regional fronts namely Janata Dal-Secular (JDS), Telugu Desam Party (TDP), and Janasena to achieve its target of 400 plus seats in Lok Sabha elections 2024.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) registered a thumping victory winning 22 out of 25 seats. Its arch-rival in Andhra Pradesh, TDP managed to bag only 3 seats.
Notably, BJP and Congress were not in any alliance in the state during the last Lok Sabha elections, but this time the saffron wing is looking forward to change strategy and joining hands with former Andhra Pradesh CM Chandra Babu Naidu's TDP.
BJP did exceptionally well during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as the party won 25 seats out of 28 seats in Karnataka. However, people of the state elected Congress during the state assembly elections and it won't be easy for BJP to retain its Lok Sabha seats this time.
