Shameless & Vulgar’: Opposition Slams BJP’s Gaurav Bhatia Over No-Pajama Viral Video

A video of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia has sparked a storm on social media after he was seen participating in a television debate without wearing pajamas. The incident took place during News18's prime-time show Aar Paar, hosted by Amish Devgan, on Friday (September 12).

In the viral clip, Bhatia appeared on screen wearing only a pink kurta while the host was introducing the panelists. For a few seconds, he was visible without pants, adjusting his kurta in an attempt to cover his bare legs. The moment, however, was caught on camera and quickly circulated online.

Opposition Mockery

The Samajwadi Party's IT Cell was among the first to share the video, using it to criticize Bhatia. The party described him as "shameless" and "vulgar," alleging that the clip exposed the "true character" of the BJP. Their social media post read:
"Look at @gauravbhatiabjp, the shameless, vulgar, spout-loving type from BJP, sitting in a TV channel debate without pajamas. Doesn't he feel shame? This scene of Gaurav Bhatia that everyone can see is the true BJP character. These shameless ones blabber nonsense about others all day, but their own conduct is out in the open."

Public Outrage

The full episode remains available on News18's official YouTube channel, where the wardrobe mishap can be spotted at the 6.20-minute mark. Reports suggest Bhatia was attending the debate from home and failed to realize his camera had captured more than intended.

Adding to the controversy, a female lawyer has now demanded legal action against the BJP spokesperson. She alleged that the act amounted to "spreading obscenity" and said:
"Video is viral showing BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia sitting in a TV debate via video call without wearing pants. He didn't check the camera frame. This is just heights of obscenity. What a shameless man. He should actually be booked for public indecency."

Despite the backlash and growing criticism, Gaurav Bhatia has not issued any official statement on the matter. Meanwhile, the video continues to spread across platforms, drawing mockery, memes, and widespread trolling from internet users and opposition parties alike.
