'BJP's debacle not a referendum on Modi'
Patna, Nov 8: Hours after the BJP lost miserably in the Bihar assembly polls on Sunday, the party's senior leader in Bihar Azfar Shamshi here said the verdict was not a referendum on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"The
loss
in
any
way
is
not
a
referendum
on
our
PM.
It's
a
collective
loss
of
our
party
workers.
We
will
analyse
what
went
wrong
and
will
come
back
strongly,"
he
told
IANS.
"We
will
play
a
role
of
constructive
opposition."
"The victory of the grand alliance proves that they succeeded in playing the caste card well," Shamshi said.
Shamshi, however, had words of praise for Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal-United leader Nitish Kumar. He said: "Nitish ji has been a good chief minister. I congratulate him for the victory and wish him luck for the coming days."
