BJP-RSS meet discusses course correction, need to wade away negative impact
New Delhi, Sept 4: The RSS has emphasized the need for course correction on certain issues and told the BJP that it needs to take steps to wade away any negative publicity. The One Rank One Pension issue to the border crisis were all on the agenda as the RSS and the BJP held their three day coordination meet.
The RSS made it clear that there were certain issues which needed to be dealt with utmost priority. It would be both in the interest of the nation as a whole and will help the BJP too which has received negative publicity on such matters.

The key areas of focus during the meet which is taking place in New Delhi was the OROP, Kashmir issue, Bangladesh illegal migrant crisis and the China border issue. Over all in a nut shell national security and the OROP topped the agenda during the meet.
Rehabilitate civilians in Kashmir
The RSS made it clear that the civilians injured in the firing by Pakistan recently must be rehabilitated with immediate effect. The RSS which held discussions with Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that there should be no delay in the implementation of a rehabilitation package for those civilians affected due to firing by Pakistan.
Further the RSS also stated that the Kashmir issue needs to be dealt with an iron fist. There is no room for complacency on this issue and the government must tackle the problem more effectively, the RSS felt.
Further the RSS was of the view that the BJP must also deal strongly with its ally in Kashmir, the PDP. Do not let the PDP take all decisions on the Kashmir issue, the RSS pointed out while indirectly referring the manner in which the separatists have been dealt with.
It also pointed out to the BJP that the decision to ally with the PDP has not augured too well with many.
The China border
The RSS wants the BJP to be firm on the China issue. It has advised the BJP the government must be strong while dealing with the Arunachal Pradesh border issue.
There should be no scope for any weakness on this issue as it is extremely important, the RSS also suggested to the BJP.
Further the RSS felt that if the government was able to engage more with the people of Arunachal Pradesh and bring all people on its side, then a host of issues will be sorted out. There is a need for constant engagement on this issue, the RSS also told the BJP.
One Rank One Pension
The RSS was very keen that the OROP issue be resolved at the earliest. This was in fact pointed out to the BJP on day one itself. The RSS told the BJP dragging this issue is only affecting the image of the government. OROP must be settled immediately to wade away any negative impact on the image of the government.
The BJP on its part assured the RSS that the OROP issue was being worked out. Minister for Defence Manohar Parrikar who is also present at the meet briefed the RSS leadership that steps were being taken to sort out this issue at the earliest. The BJP will also brief the President of India on the issue, the RSS was told.
Bangladesh border
The RSS in yesterday's session raised concerns over the illegal immigration from Bangladesh. The recently released caste census shows an increasing number of Muslims in the states of Assam and this is a result of illegal immigration, the RSS pointed out.
The RSS said that the issue of illegal immigration needs to be tackled immediately and there cannot be any complicity on the issue. It has been going on for long and spoken about many times. Today you have the power and can deal with the issue, the RSS also advised the BJP.
