BJP remains non-committal on CM face for Bihar Assembly polls

Patna, June 16: Remaining non-committal about its Chief Ministerial candidate for Bihar Assembly polls, Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Ananth Kumar on Tuesday said the BJP will go to the hustings by projecting its development agenda under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

No BJP CM candidate yet in Bihar

Describing the upcoming Bihar assembly polls as a contest between the 'jungle raj' of Lalu-Nitish (RJD supremo Lalu Prasad and senior JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's development and good governance agendas, Kumar told reporters here that the electorate will embrace the Prime Minister's agendas and reject Lalu and Nitish, who symbolized 'jungle raj'.

"I am confident that the electorate of Bihar will reject the jungle raj being fostered by Lalu and Nitish during the assembly polls," the Union Minister said.

Kumar, who has been appointed by the BJP as the party's state incharge for Bihar Assembly polls, left for Begusarai to review preparations for Begusarai Assembly seat.

Meanwhile, state unit JD(U) chief Bashistha Narayan Singh took a dim view of the BJP not being confident to declare its Chief Ministerial candidate for Bihar and wondered as to "how a party which cannot decide on naming its chief ministerial face can go to the people with confidence for a mandate."
