BJP Finds Manmohan Singh's Comments on Modi 'Laughable'
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has responded to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's recent criticisms of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling them "laughable" and an attempt to mislead the nation. In a letter addressed to the voters of Punjab before the final phase of the Lok Sabha elections on June 1, Singh accused Modi of degrading public discourse and misrepresenting his statements during the election campaign. BJP national spokesperson R P Singh took to X to counter these allegations, emphasizing that despite withdrawing from active politics, Manmohan Singh continues to propagate misleading information.

According to R P Singh, the accusations made by Manmohan Singh are not only baseless but also inappropriate for someone who has served as the Prime Minister of India. He further highlighted India's enhanced global reputation, contrasting it with the alleged existence of a "super PM" during Manmohan Singh's tenure, which supposedly attracted more attention from foreign dignitaries than the official Prime Minister.
The BJP spokesperson also refuted Manmohan Singh's claim of never targeting any community by reminding that it was Singh himself who had stated that Muslims have the first right on the country's resources. Additionally, R P Singh criticized the former Prime Minister's comments on the economic turmoil over the past decade. He argued that under Manmohan Singh's leadership, India was part of the "fragile five," whereas it now stands among the top five economies globally, showcasing a significant improvement in economic growth and stability.
The exchange highlights ongoing political tensions and differing perspectives on India's progress and leadership. As the country continues to navigate its political and economic landscape, such debates underscore the contrasting views within its political framework.
