BJP to Launch Intensive Campaign with 100 Rallies in Odisha
In a strategic move to challenge the current government in Odisha, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced an ambitious plan to conduct 100 election rallies across the state. This political maneuver is aimed directly at unseating the Naveen Patnaik administration. With the elections looming, the BJP is pulling out all stops, roping in heavyweight speakers including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to lead the charge.

According to Golak Mohapatra, Vice-President of Odisha BJP, these rallies are not just mere gatherings but a significant part of the party's comprehensive strategy for the upcoming polls. The campaign will span all 21 Lok Sabha constituencies in Odisha, featuring addresses by prominent BJP figures such as JP Nadda and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. This announcement came on the heels of a strategic meeting held in Bhubaneswar, focusing on election preparations.
Odisha is set to witness simultaneous elections for its 147 assembly seats and 21 Lok Sabha constituencies, scheduled in four phases starting May 13. The BJP's campaign trail has already seen Prime Minister Modi addressing rallies in Sambalpur and Chandikhole on February 3 and March 5, respectively. Additionally, Rajnath Singh and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chovan have also made their presence felt in the state.
Focus Areas for BJP's Campaign
The BJP's campaign strategy is not just about showcasing its leadership but also about addressing key issues. Mohapatra highlighted that the party plans to focus on corruption and crime against women during these rallies. Moreover, several chief ministers from other states, including Uttar Pradesh's Yogi Adityanath and Assam's Himanta Biswa Sharma, are slated to address rallies in various assembly segments, indicating a nationwide support network for the party's efforts in Odisha.
On the other side of the political spectrum, BJD MLA Sudhir Samal expressed confidence in Naveen Patnaik's continued leadership. He asserted that the people of Odisha are poised to re-elect Patnaik, potentially making him the longest-serving Chief Minister in India. Samal's statement reflects a strong belief in the BJD's ability to retain power in the upcoming elections.
The political landscape in Odisha is heating up as both major parties gear up for what promises to be a closely contested battle. With the BJP deploying its top leaders and focusing on critical issues, it aims to make significant inroads into Odisha's political scene. Meanwhile, the BJD remains confident in its grassroots support and leadership. As the election dates draw nearer, all eyes will be on Odisha to see how this political drama unfolds.
