Amit Shah attends BJP Parliamnetary board meet as a first time MP
The BJP Parliamentary Board meeting which began in Parliament library building on Thursday morning, discussed several issues. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party chief Amit Shah and other members of the board.

The highlight of the meet was party president Amit Shah, who was elected as an MP for the first time in Rajya Sabha. Earlier, on Wednesday, BJP chief Amit Shah, a five-time MLA, bid adieu to the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. Shah asserted that BJP is unassailable in the poll-bound state.
Shah, 52, tendered his resignation as an MLA to Assembly Speaker Ramanlal Vora after giving an hour-long farewell speech in the House on the second and the last day of the monsoon session of the state assembly. Shah, who represented Naranpura assembly seat in Ahmedabad, in his speech said he was "proud to be from a state, which is an unassailable fortress of the BJP".
Discussion on fuel
Addressing the BJP Parliamentary Party meeting, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said,''80 per cent of fuel used for transportation & domestic usage in India is imported. This costs us Rs 6 Lakh Crore.''
''PM Modi has given the target to bring down this dependence by 10% by the 75th year of Independence in 2022,'' Dharmendra Pradhan added.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said,''Bio-diesel is currently charged at 18% tax under GST. I think of asking the Finance Ministry to bring it down to 5%.''
