BJP MP Pratap Simha's First Reaction To Parliament Security Breach Incident, 'Traitor' Charges
BJP MP Pratap Simha, embroiled in the Lok Sabha security breach controversy, addressed the uproar and 'traitor' accusations, asserting that the public would pass their judgment during the 2024 general elections.
Simha's office had issued visitor passes to the individuals who breached the Lok Sabha, sparking a political uproar that led to the suspension of 143 Opposition MPs from the Winter Session.

In his initial public response, he left the verdict of being a traitor or patriot to the divine and his supporters.
The Opposition, led by Congress, demanded action against Simha.
"Whether I'm perceived as a traitor or a patriot will be determined by the people-the divine Chamundeshwari, the Cauvery, my dedicated readers across Karnataka for two decades, and the residents of Mysuru and Kodgu who've witnessed my work and stance on national issues. Their verdict will speak through the 2024 Lok Sabha polls," Simha stated, per PTI reports.
Regarding the 'traitor' posters, he stated, "Ultimately, it's the people who decide. Their judgment will define whether I'm a patriot. I trust their decision. There's little more for me to add."
Simha encountered protests from Congress workers.
Pralhad Joshi, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister, confirmed Simha's statement had been recorded in the Parliament security breach investigation.
Simha, a two-term MP from Mysuru, transitioned from journalism to politics, winning the Lok Sabha elections in 2014.
