BJP MP Bidhuri Calls BSP MP Ali 'Terrorist' In Lok Sabha; Om Birla Reacts As Oppn Demands Action
Ramesh Bidhuri, a BJP MP from South Delhi, referred to Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) lawmaker Danish Ali as a "terrorist" during a session in the Lok Sabha. The comment was made during a discussion on the success of Chandrayaan-3 in the Lower House of Parliament. "Yeh ugrawaaadi (militant), Yeh aatankwaadi hai, ugrawaadi hai, Yeh aantankwaadi (terrorist) hai," Bidhuri can be heard saying during proceedings.
Bidhuri's statement, where he labeled Danish Ali as a "militant" and a "terrorist," drew sharp criticism from Opposition members. Danish Ali represents Uttar Pradesh's Amroha constituency in the Lok Sabha.

While making these derogatory remarks, Bidhuri's party colleague and former union minister Harsh Vardhan was observed laughing, further adding to the controversy. In response to the outrage, Opposition members demanded action against the BJP MP.
According to reports, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla voiced his disapproval of the derogatory remarks made by Bidhuri against BSP member Danish Ali, which were directed at Muslims. According to India Today report, the Speaker reprimanded Bidhuri for his remarks and advised him to uphold the decorum of his language.
Defence Minister and Deputy Leader of the Lok Sabha, Rajnath Singh, expressed regret over Bidhuri's comments. He mentioned that he hadn't heard the remarks and requested the Chair to expunge them from the proceedings if they had caused offense to the opposition members.

The Chair, represented by Congress member K Suresh, had already directed officials to remove the remarks from the record. Rajnath Singh further expressed regret if the opposition had been hurt by the comments made by the BJP member, a gesture that received applause from other members in the Lok Sabha.
Birla's warning follows a request from Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra, who urged him to take action against Ramesh Bidhuri. She suggested that the Speaker could consider initiating a privilege motion against her for "calling him out."
Moitra directly asked, "But I am asking you here and now-what action are you taking against Ramesh Bidhuri?" in a message.
She also alleged that "abusing Muslims and OBCs was an integral part of the BJP's culture."
In another post, while sharing a video clip of Bidhuri, Moitra said, "BJP MP @rameshbidhuri calling MP Danish Ali a 'Bharwa' (pimp), 'Katwa' (circumcised), 'Mullah Atankwadi' & 'Mullah Ugrawadi' ON RECORD in Lok Sabha last night. Keeper of Maryada @ombirlakota Vishwaguru @narendramodi & BJP Prez @JPNadda along with GodiMedia- any action please?"
Congress leader Pawan Khera also criticised Bidhuri for his remarks and commented, "I have seen Ramesh Bidhuri as an MLA in the Delhi Assembly. He was better during those days. I guess, in Parliament, his upbringing has been ably done by Modi-Shah. New Parliament. New India."
Senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh demanded strict action against Bidhuri, accusing the BJP of engaging in hooliganism. He described Bidhuri's language in the House as that of a thug or mafia member and emphasized that the insult to Danish Ali was an insult to all opposition MPs. Singh questioned the lack of action against Bidhuri, referencing his own suspension when raising the Manipur issue, and called for appropriate measures to be taken against the offending MP.
