BJP Leaders Discuss Candidate Strategy For Jharkhand Election 2024: 'What If You Don't Get A Ticket?'
As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) gears up for the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections, the party has initiated the candidate selection process.
Assam Chief Minister and BJP election co-in-charge, Himanta Biswa Sarma, convened a meeting with district presidents in Ranchi to discuss potential candidates for each assembly seat, as reported by Jagran.

BJP Leaders Discuss Candidate Strategy
The BJP plans to announce the names of 15 to 20 candidates in the first round. During the closed-door discussions at the state BJP office, Sarma posed a thought-provoking question to the district presidents: "What will you do if you don't receive a ticket?" This inquiry aimed to gauge the commitment and readiness of the party leaders in the face of uncertain nominations, as per the media report.
In separate meetings conducted across six divisions, the party leaders were asked to provide the names of potential candidates. Notably, some district presidents expressed their aspirations by declaring themselves as candidates. While a few leaders mentioned they would consider their options if they did not receive a ticket, the majority indicated their willingness to follow the party's directives, regardless of their nomination status.
The BJP's proactive approach reflects its strategy to consolidate its position ahead of the elections and ensure a unified front among its leaders, as reported. The candidate selection process is crucial as the party seeks to solidify its presence in Jharkhand ahead of the polls.
