BJP Leader Kirit Somaiya Caught In MMS Scandal As Purported Clip In Compromising Position Goes Viral
A purported video of Maharashtra BJP leader Kirit Somaiya in a compromising position has leaked online, garnering criticism from the opposition parties.
According to Marathi news channel 'Lokshahi,' it has access to the controversial clip. However, the channel has blurred the explicit part of the video, thereby safeguarding the identity of the woman featured in the video.

In a live show, Kamlesh Sutar, Editor of Lokshahi, stated their intention is not to infringe upon anyone's privacy but rather seek clarification from Somaiya regarding the video's authenticity and any associated complaints. He also claimed that the channel has multiple such clips of the BJP leader in its possession.
On the other hand, the BJP leader has appealed to Maharashtra Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis to investigate the allegations and verify the authenticity of the videos.
"A video clip of me was shown on a news channel. Claimed that I have harrassed many women & many such video clips available & complaints received against Me. I have never abused any woman. Request @Dev_Fadnavis to investigate such allegations and verify the authenticity of Videos," he tweeted.
Opposition Reaction
Vidya Chavan (NCP leader of the Sharad Pawar faction) slammed Kirit Somaiya and said that he has no moral right to criticise the opposition parties after indulging in such obscene activities.

"I personally felt disappointed by the video footage involving Kirit Somaiya. His aggressive behaviour and offensive gestures are concerning. As a prominent figure known for exposing corruption, if such misconduct is true, I believe appropriate action should be taken," Chavan said.
Responding to the incident, Congress' Yashomati Thakur said, "BJP leaders, who often lecture about morality, should have the courage to hold Kirit Somaiya accountable and take lawful action against him. He has been accused of leading a deceptive public life and now needs to come forward and address these allegations. Such revelations can tarnish the public image of those who hypocritically advocate campaigns like 'Save Daughters, Educate Daughters',"
Rupali Thombre-Patil, leader of Ajit Pawar NCP faction, claimed that it was important to investigate the authenticity of this clip and take necessary legal measures. "The emergence of such a video in this manner is highly serious and regrettable. Kirit Somaiya is a well-known personality who has exposed numerous instances of corruption. If videos of this nature do exist, it is imperative to initiate proper legal proceedings," she said.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Deputy CM and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced today in the Legislative Council that the entire matter will be thoroughly investigated and no one will be spared.
He assured the House that if there are any complaints from the Opposition parties about it, it will also be investigated and the matter will not be suppressed.
