BJP Raises Concerns About Scholarships and Paddy Procurement in Jharkhand Assembly's Winter Session

During the winter session of the Jharkhand assembly, the BJP will highlight issues regarding delayed scholarships for students and the lack of paddy procurement from farmers. The party criticises the government for failing to fulfil its promises.

The BJP in Jharkhand plans to address several pressing issues during the winter assembly session. These include the lack of scholarships for students and the delay in paddy procurement. The BJP's legislature party, led by Opposition Leader Babulal Marandi, decided on this course of action. The session began on Friday and will end on December 11, spanning five working days.

Naveen Jaiswal, the BJP chief whip, stated that NDA leaders aim to challenge the government on these critical matters. He highlighted that students are not receiving their scholarships and farmers are unable to sell paddy at fair prices. Farmers are compelled to sell to middlemen at lower rates due to the government's inaction.

Unfulfilled Promises and Rising Concerns

Jaiswal pointed out that the government had pledged to buy paddy from farmers at Rs 3,200 per quintal. However, a year has passed without any action on this promise. He also mentioned that seven guarantees were made before the 2024 assembly polls, none of which have been fulfilled.

Among these promises were LPG cylinders priced at Rs 450 each, health coverage up to Rs 15 lakh, and the creation of 10 lakh jobs. Jaiswal criticised the government for failing to deliver on these commitments. He claimed that instead of progressing, Jharkhand has regressed over the past six years.

Law and Order Deterioration

The BJP also raised concerns about the worsening law and order situation in the state. Jaiswal alleged that corruption has significantly increased during this period. The party intends to demand answers from the government regarding these issues during the assembly session.

Jaiswal emphasised that addressing these problems is crucial for the state's development. The BJP aims to hold the government accountable for its promises and actions. They seek clarity on how these issues will be resolved moving forward.

The BJP's focus on these matters reflects their commitment to addressing public grievances. By raising these topics in the assembly, they hope to bring about necessary changes and improvements for Jharkhand's citizens.
