BJP Is For Hindus, Not Minorities: MP Heard Saying In Viral Clip
Amid row over redistribution of people's wealth, a BJP MP has claimed that the party is for the Hindus and not for minorities.
In a viral video, Vijayapura BJP MP Ramesh Jigajinagi is heard saying, "Bharatiya Janata Party is for the Hindus, and not for minorities & others, don't you know it? Even you are Hindus, why are you asking this question? BJP is for Hindus."

The reporter, apparently, questioned why the BJP was selectively visiting the house of Hindu victims. It was related to the Congress' allegation of politicising the murder of Neha Hiremath, daughter of a Congress leader killed by a man named Fayaz Khondunaik.
The incident occurred recently inside a college campus in Hubballi. Neha, daughter of Niranjan Hiremath, was a first-year MCA student and Fayaz was her former classmate.
The video of the stabbing incident had gone viral.
At a time when Karnataka is preparing for the first phase of the election, the matter has escalated into a political battle between the ruling Congress and the opposition BJP in Karnataka. While the ruling party has portrayed it as a "personal incident," the BJP suspects "love jihad" and argues that it highlights the "decline in law and order" in the state.
On the other hand, the members of the Muslim community including women came out in large numbers and staged a demonstration, denouncing the accused from their own community and publicly stood by the Hindu victim's family.
Shops owned by Muslims were shut for half a day in solidarity with the family of Hiremath and to condemn the dastardly act that shook the twin city of Hubballi-Dharwad. The shopkeepers put out a poster saying, "Justice for Neha Hiremath".
Under the banner of Dharwad unit of Anjuman-e-Islam, Muslim students, both boys and girls, too took out a march in the city holding banners and placards which read: "One murder of a human is equal to the murder of humanity" and "Girl students should be respected and protected".
