BJP heading for victory, way ahead of Congress in vote share
Despite the fact that Congress has already conceded defeat, the ECI via Nielsen data shows the BJP has the highest vote share of 48.2% percent. On the other hand,Congress vote share is 32.6% percent. JD(S) is far below, with 17 percent vote share.
Meanwhile, EC data shows Congress' vote share is marginally higher than the saffron party's.
As per the latest trends, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in 105 seats, while the Congress is ahead in 76 seats. The Janata Dal (Secular), which is emerging as the tie-breaker, is leading in 39 seats.
BS Yeddyurappa, the man tipped to become the next Karnataka Chief Minister, is scheduled to take a special flight to Delhi in the evening to join grand celebrations planned by the party.
Meanwhile, in more heartbreak for the Congress, the incumbent Chief Minister Siddaramaiah lost in Chamundeshwari in hometown Mysuru against his main rival GT Deve Gowda of the JD(S). However, he won in the Badami assembly constituency in north Karnataka.
