BJP Drone Show in Kolkata Highlights Bengal's Heritage and Party's Campaign Themes
As the final countdown to the seventh and last phase of the Lok Sabha elections on June 1 begins, Kolkata witnessed a spectacular drone show on Wednesday night, hosted by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This event, a vibrant celebration of West Bengal's rich heritage and culture, also highlighted the achievements and future commitments of the Narendra Modi-led government. The Kolkata Maidan sky transformed into a canvas of multicoloured lights, drawing hundreds of spectators to this grand display.

The drone show intricately designed images in the sky, including an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) featuring the BJP's election symbol, the lotus. The phrase "Aro Ekbar Modi Sarkar" (Modi government once again) was vividly showcased, resonating with the gathered crowd's sentiments. Following this were visuals symbolizing government initiatives like "Ghar Ghar Jal" (water in every house) and "Pucca Bari" (concrete house), alongside "Modi ki Guarantee," all aimed at showcasing the central government's promises to the public.
The audience's enthusiasm reached its peak as chants of "Jai Shree Ram" and "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" filled the air, especially when deities revered in Bengal such as Maa Kali, Durga, and Lord Rama were depicted through the drone imagery. The show also paid homage to Bengal's legendary figures like Swami Vivekananda, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and Rabindranath Tagore, tapping into the state's deep-rooted cultural pride.
Adding to the cultural showcase was an image of Kolkata's Metro Railway, symbolizing progress and development. The 30-minute spectacle commenced with a representation of the Indian Tricolour unfurling against the night sky, set to the tune of traditional Indian instruments like the santoor and sarod. This artistic endeavor aimed not only to celebrate Bengal's spirit but also to provide a glimpse into the Narendra Modi government's achievements and its vision for pro-people projects in the future.
A BJP leader expressed satisfaction with the event's reception, stating that it successfully recaptured Bengal's spirit while highlighting the central government's efforts and plans. The drone show, with its blend of cultural homage and political messaging, struck a chord with those in attendance, marking a memorable moment in the election campaign.
