BJP Calls for Lieutenant Governor's Intervention on CMO Delhi Handle Renaming Controversy

The BJP has called for the intervention of the lieutenant governor regarding the renaming of the official CMO Delhi handle on X to "Arvind Kejriwal At Work." This change is believed to have been made at the request of the former chief minister. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) responded by urging the BJP to stop making unfounded claims and concentrate on governing Delhi.

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva has requested Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena to obtain a report from the government's IT department concerning the renaming of the CMO Delhi handle on X. He also questioned its alleged use for posting content related to former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Sachdeva accused Kejriwal of misusing public resources for personal gain.

Allegations of Misuse

Sachdeva criticised Kejriwal for allegedly repurposing an official handle, funded by public money, for personal use. He demanded that the lieutenant governor halt this alleged misuse by Kejriwal, noting that around one million people follow the account. Sachdeva claimed that Kejriwal's actions not only misused government resources but also endangered people's private information, warranting legal action.

Recently elected BJP MLA Vijender Gupta stated that Kejriwal's true nature is being revealed. In a post on X, Gupta accused AAP of removing a video from the official YouTube channel of the Delhi government. He alleged that Kejriwal tried to conceal his shortcomings by deleting old videos of assembly sessions and government programmes.

Political Tensions Rise

The BJP regained power in Delhi after 26 years, defeating AAP in the February 5 assembly elections. However, they have yet to form a government. Sachdeva remarked that as soon as Kejriwal's corrupt administration fell, he turned into a "digital looter." He condemned Kejriwal's alleged actions and demanded accountability.

Gupta further criticised Kejriwal, stating, "The same Kejriwal, who used to talk about transparency, is today getting government digital documents deleted for fear of his lies and failures being exposed." These accusations highlight ongoing political tensions between BJP and AAP in Delhi.

The situation underscores the contentious relationship between BJP and AAP in Delhi politics. As allegations continue to surface, both parties remain at odds over governance and transparency issues in the capital city.
